LEATHER STROP INSTRUCTIONS

Getting Started

The Tumbler Leather Strop is the perfect tool to quickly and efficiently maintain your knives and bring them to razor sharpness. The strop consists of a birch wood base, covered with fine cowhide, vegetable tanned.

IMPORTANT

To achieve the best result, it is important to maintain the angle so that only the  edge of the knife comes into contact with the leather. Do not move the knife against but with the edge, otherwise you may cut into the leather and damage the strop or the edge of your knife.

STEP 1

First you need the right angle for your blade. To do this, place your index finger on the strop and the knife blade on it. This angle must now be maintained as best as possible.
Now stroke the knife away from you at this angle. Make sure to keep the angle so that only the cutting edge is in contact with the leather (see figure 1 above).

STEP 2

Then turn the knife around and pull off to the opposite side. This movement polishes the edge and removes the smallest chipping and sharpens the blade on the leather efficiently and quickly.
